This is a part of a series of my threads that I'll be reuploading from DV's forum before it's closed. German WWI Weapons and equipment
This thread is about weapons and equipment of the German Army of WWI
From France to Tsingtao, in Russia and in Italy, the German army fought valiantly in all fronts of WWI
This is a German WWI Mauser Gewehr 1898, the most used rifle, and probably the most successful bolt-action rifle design of WWI, the predecessor of the Karabiner 1898 kurz It can be easily identified because of the beautiful rear sight

Chech out this monster: Mauser 1918 Tankgewehr, the anti-tank rifle made for the German Army. The recoil must be terrible.

This beauty changed warfare forever: the Bergmann MP-18 It was so lethal that the Treaty of Versailles forbid Germany to build these guns. Even though the impact of this gun in the war was almost zero because it entered in action at the beginning of 1918, it saved the lives of many German Soldiers.

Maxim MG08/15, excellent for painting some Entente troops. This one was called a "Light Machine Gun" (LMG) because it was lighter than the heavy Maxim MG08, and a normal soldier was able to carry it in the middle of the battlefield, though it was still a massive gun. Compared to other LMGs like the French Chauchat, the American Browning, the Swedish Madsen and the British Lewis, the Maxim is still a heavy water-cooled gun, but it mantains the rate of fire of the original Maxim and it had more ammunition capacity than the Madsen, the Chauchat and the Browning, giving it advantages in close combat support in the streets of Europe and the improvised late-war trenches. Overall, it's not something you would want to find in the enemy's hand.
